PR0086-S – CIELab Color Checker

PR0086-S (CIELab Color Checker) is an industrial sensor for color measurement and surface quality inspection. It provides outputs in the CIE 1976 Lab* color space, tristimulus values X/Y/Z, yellowness index (YI E313; YI D1925), whiteness index (CIE whiteness W; tint TW), and ΔE.

The sensor uses a white LED light source and achieves repeatability of < 0.05 ΔE (referenced to the sample).
Communication is via the RS485 interface (proprietary protocol), and parameters can be configured through the serial interface.
Power supply is 24 V DC (±10%), protection rating IP24, and operating temperature range is 10 to 50°C.

PR0086-S (CIELab Color Checker) is an industrial system for accurate color measurement and surface quality inspection in the CIE 1976 L*a*b* color space. It is designed for measuring non-homogeneous surfaces and bulk materials, such as plastic pellets. Thanks to its white LED light source and high measurement repeatability, it is suitable for stable process control and evaluation of color deviations (ΔE). Installation is straightforward, and the system can be parameterized via a serial interface.

PR0086-S – CIELab Color Checker


The PR0086-S sensor provides outputs in CIE 1976 L*a*b* as well as tristimulus values X/Y/Z, Yellowness Index (YI), and Whiteness Index, including evaluation of the color difference ΔE. Communication is via RS485 (proprietary protocol), and parameterization is performed through the serial interface.

The mechanical installation is designed for stable measurement at a 15° working angle. The detection area depends on the working distance, allowing you to select the optimal setup for your application (e.g., spot measurement vs. larger-area measurement).
