BP420 - Burst plugs
Model BP420 overpressure plug is specially designed for use in plastic extrusion systems. Blanking plugs (also known as burst fuses) are designed for reliable, emergency release of excessive pressure in the system.
BP 420 models rupture at a specific, predetermined pressure and temperature. These pressure plugs consist of a body made of stainless steel and a membrane coated with an inconel layer. The diaphragm is supported by a tip that ensures rupture during and overpressure release if necessary. In practice, there are situations where the pressure rises so rapidly that the response time of the safety valve may be insufficient, for example in a polymerisation reaction vessel. All safety plugs are tested at nominal pressure and burst temperature. Laser-assisted markings are marked on the blanking plugs, making them more visible, and each blanking plug is marked and supplied with a protective cover.
