Company ETTLINGER

ETTLINGER is a brand in the plastics industry under which you can equip powerful and reliable melt filtration systems for extrusion and injection molding applications for more than 35 years. Ettlinger is now part of the MAAG Group and is developing special high-performance melt filtration systems, together with high-capacity injection molding machines and tailor-made applications for every customer.
ETTLINGER offers globally unique expertise in filtration and recycling systems and injection molding machines. Our continuously operating high-performance melt filters are successfully used worldwide to filter polymer feedstocks with varying degrees of contamination. Each system incorporates decades of experience, thorough know-how and state-of-the-art technology, thanks to which ETTLINGER sets global standards as part of the MAAG Group.
Ettlinger melt filters are state-of-the-art technology for processing a variety of recycled materials - with a patented principle that has already proven its functionality and performance in many industrial applications around the world. The ERF and ECO series are capable of processing virtually any standard polymer that occurs in recycling plants in the production of films and boards, in the production of tapes and fibers, etc. technologies. Thanks to their uniquely compact design, they are also ideal for retrofitting existing lines.
COMPANY HISTORY
Since 1983, Ettlinger has been synonymous with filtration and injection systems that offer the highest reliability and quality.
As a partner of the MAAG Group, ETTLINGER strengthens its innovative strength and exploits synergies with human resources, products and services and the expertise of the world's leading group of companies to meet the demands of the future.
1983 - Mechanical engineer Roderich Ettlinger founds a company near Augsburg, Germany, and begins manufacturing injection molding machines.
1999 - To meet growing demand, Ettlinger opens a new production facility in Königsbrunn, Germany. Ettlinger is starting to develop a new system for melt filtration.
2004 - The first EDF, the patented Ettlinger continuous filtration system, is successfully launched.
2013 - Establishment of Ettlinger in North America. The new high-performance ECO filter for PET and other low-viscosity materials is presented at the "K" trade fair in Düsseldorf.
2014 - A new high-performance ECO filter for PET and a new ERF 500 for outputs up to 6000 kg / h were launched.
2015 - Offices and production facilities in Königsbrunn are expanded.
2017 - Ettlinger introduces the new ERF 350 melt filter as a further development of the proven ERF 250 technology.
2018 - Maag Pump Systems AG acquires Ettlinger.
2019 - At the "K" 2019 trade fair in Düsseldorf, Ettlinger will present the new high-performance melt filter ERF 1000, which can transmit up to 10,000 kg / h. melt filters for the processing of recycling materials.

High Performance Melt Filter ERF

The continuous melt filters in the ERF series are suitable for materials with up to 16% by weight contamination and are guaranteed to remain in use for long periods without changing the filter. Our ERF melt filters are capable of processing a wide range of polymers (e.g. LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, PP, PS, ABS, PC / ABS, TPE, TPU, POM). All solid or elastomer foreign particles such as paper, wood, aluminum, copper, rubber, silicone, or high-melting polymer composites are efficiently removed.

Fully automatic, continuous operation

Up to 18% contaminants removed

Extremely low melt losses

More reliable processing due to constant pressure at the filter outlet

No need to replace the screen for several weeks, or possibly months, depending on the material and the application

Completely closed system with no entrapped air

Short contaminant residence times in the filter

Very simple replacement of the scraper from outside using a hydraulic cylinder

Elastomers (rubber, silicone) are efficiently filtered and discharged before they have a chance to be forced through the filter screen

High Performance Melt Filter ECO

The continuous melt filters of the ECO series are mainly employed in PET and PA applications due to their special design and for filtering polymer feedstock from industrial waste with a low level of contamination or lightly contaminated post-consumer waste, as well as for clean virgin material. Our ECO melt filters are capable of processing a wide range of polymers. All solid or elastomer foreign particles such as gels, black specs, paper, wood, aluminum, copper, rubber, silicone or high-melting polymer composites are efficiently removed.

Continuous operation with a constant pressure on the outlet side

No need to replace the screen for several weeks, or possibly months, depending on the material and the applicationExtremely low melt losses

Absolutely clean filtration surface during the total time in operation

Up to 1.5% contaminants removed (we recommend our ERF filter for higher contaminant contents)

Completely closed system with no entrapped air

Short contaminant residence times in the filter

Consistent melt flow without dead zones or degraded polymer

Suitable for all polyolefins, polystyrenes, PET and PA

Better mixing and homogenizing of highly filled melts
